Glutathione

ABOUT

Glutathione, also known as GSH, is an antioxidant produced in cells. It is comprised largely of three amino acids: glutamine, glycine, and cysteine. As an antioxidant, glutathione helps our bodies balance free radicals and stay healthy. It works at the cellular level to prevent inflammation and other cell damage. It plays a role in many chemical reactions in our body.

BENEFITS

Improves insulin resistance

As people age, they produce less glutathione. Low glutathione levels lead to less fat burning and higher rates of fat storing in the body of older individuals. Dietary supplements with glutathione improve insulin resistance and fat burning.

Reduces cell damage

The deficiency in antioxidants causes cell death in the liver which leads to fatty liver disease. Glutathione improves protein, enzyme, and bilirubin levels in the blood of individuals with chronic fatty liver disease.

Increases mobility

Peripheral artery disease occurs when the peripheral arteries become clogged by plaque. It most commonly happens in the legs. Glutathione improves circulation, increasing the ability to walk pain-free for longer distances.

Reduces symptoms of Parkinson's disease

Parkinson's disease affects the central nervous system and is defined by symptoms such as tremors. Intravenous glutathione has positive effects on symptoms such as tremors and rigidity. It may help reduce symptoms, improving quality of life in people with this disease.

Helps to reduce oxidative stress

Glutathione deficiency leads to increased levels of oxidative stress. Elevated glutathione levels can raise antioxidant levels and improve resistance to oxidative stress by either stimulating or reducing the body's immunological response.
